Do you have any questions?
Where do we meet our hiking guide?
The meeting point and the planned route will be personally agreed with you after booking or at the latest one day before the start of the tour.
Who are the guided hiking tours suitable for?
Our hiking tours are for everyone who wants to not just see, but truly experience the mountain world. Families with children are just as welcome as leisurely hikers, ambitious guests, and experienced mountain enthusiasts. The route, walking time, elevation gain, and pace are chosen to match the participants, their fitness level, and their personal wishes.
Why is a hike with a personal guide worthwhile?
With an experienced hiking guide, you’ll discover paths, viewpoints, and special places that are often overlooked when hiking alone. At the same time, you don’t have to worry about route planning, orientation, or assessing conditions. Your guide knows the region, adapts the tour flexibly, and ensures you feel completely at ease along the way. This leaves more time for what truly matters: enjoying nature, discovering new things, and experiencing unforgettable mountain moments.
Are the hiking tours individually planned?
Yes. Our guided hikes are not rigid standard programs. We tailor the experience to your booking, wishes, fitness level, the age of the participants, and the weather conditions. Whether it’s a leisurely panoramic trail, a family-friendly discovery tour, a hike to an alpine pasture, or a challenging tour, together we will find the perfect route.
What types of hiking tours are possible?
The offerings range from relaxed pleasure and family hikes, panoramic, alpine pasture, and themed trails, to longer, more challenging mountain tours.
Are the hikes also suitable for families with children?
Of course. Especially for families, a personal hiking guide can make the day in the mountains particularly varied.
From what age can children participate?
This depends less on a fixed age limit and more on the chosen tour, the walking time, and the child’s previous mountain experience. For younger children, we choose short, varied paths with many breaks and exciting intermediate stops. When you inquire, we will be happy to advise you on which tour is sensible and realistic for your family.
Are there also challenging tours for athletic hikers?
Yes. For guests with good fitness and mountain experience, we also plan longer hikes with challenging ascents, more elevation gain, and more demanding daily goals.
Do I need hiking experience?
No special mountain experience is required for easy and leisurely hikes.
How long does a guided hiking tour last?
The duration depends on the booking, selected route, and your wishes.
Where do the guided hikes take place?
Our hiking tours lead through the Tuxertal, around Finkenberg, and into other selected areas of the Zillertal. The exact starting point depends on the desired tour, the participants’ abilities, the weather, and current conditions. This way, we can make each hiking day as varied and suitable as possible.
What equipment do I need?
Basic equipment includes sturdy hiking boots with good tread, functional and weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, and a suitable backpack. Additionally, we recommend sufficient drinks, a small snack, sunscreen, sunglasses, and, if necessary, hiking poles.
Are trainers sufficient for the hike?
For very easy and short paths, sturdy sports shoes may suffice in individual cases. However, for mountain trails, we generally recommend sturdy hiking or trekking shoes with a non-slip sole. They offer significantly better grip and protect the feet on stony, wet, or uneven terrain. The appropriate shoe choice always depends on the planned tour.
Do I need to bring food?
Please bring enough water and at least a small snack.
Are cable car rides or other additional costs included in the price?
Mountain railway rides, bus rides, parking fees, refreshments, meals, and other personal expenses are not included in the price.
What happens in bad weather?
Safety always comes first. In changeable weather, the route can be adjusted, shortened, modified in terms of timing, or relocated to a more suitable area. In the event of thunderstorms, storms, heavy continuous rain, or other unsafe conditions, a tour can also be postponed or cancelled. A final decision will be made as close to the time as possible based on current weather and trail conditions.
Does the hike take place even in light rain?
Light rain is not automatically a reason for cancellation. With suitable clothing, a hike can be very rewarding even in changeable weather.
Can we book a private tour just for our family or group?
Yes. A private hiking tour offers particularly high flexibility, as the route, pace, breaks, and daily destination can be fully tailored to your family, circle of friends, or group. This way, you experience the day without other participants and with personal support from your guide.
Can I specify special requests for the tour?
Very gladly. Perhaps you’d like to discover a mountain lake, stop at an alpine hut, visit particularly beautiful photo spots, gain as much elevation as possible, or enjoy a peaceful leisurely tour. Share your ideas with us when making your enquiry. The more we know about your wishes and requirements, the better we can tailor the hiking day to you.
How do I book a guided hiking tour?
As each tour is individually planned, we ask you to make an enquiry. Please share with us, if possible, your preferred date, the number and age of participants, your hiking experience, your fitness level, and any special requests. Based on this information, we can organise the right tour and suitable guide for you.
