FAQ - More questions about Alpine Ski Group Courses in Tuxertal?
From what age can I participate?
Our group ski lessons are for teenagers aged 15 and over and adults.
Is the course also suitable for absolute beginners?
Yes. Our Basic groups (Green beginners) are specifically designed for participants with little or no skiing experience.
I haven't skied in years. Is the course still suitable for me?
Yes. We also warmly welcome those returning to skiing after a break. We recommend using our Level Finder to find the right course level for you. If you are unsure, our office team will be happy to advise you personally.
How are the groups divided?
Grouping is based on your skiing ability before the course begins; please use our Level Finder for the correct classification.
Do I need to be athletic?
The most important things are a love of skiing and a willingness to learn new things. The learning pace is adapted to the group.
Can I participate alone?
Many of our guests travel alone and quickly make new friends in the group lessons.
Can I ski in a group with friends or family?
Yes, provided your skiing abilities are similar. Perhaps a private lesson would be an alternative for you.
What are the advantages of a group ski course?
Learning together motivates, is fun, and creates a relaxed atmosphere. At the same time, you benefit from the exchange with other participants.
Where do I find the meeting point?
You can find all important information on our website, in your booking confirmation, and in our customer portal. You will receive access to the customer portal by email about two days before the course starts. If you have any questions on-site, our office team is always happy to help.
Why can the meeting point change in autumn?
In autumn, we arrange our meeting point according to the current snow conditions to offer you optimal conditions. You will receive all information about the meeting point about two days before the course starts via our customer portal. You will receive the corresponding link by email.
Where do the group courses take place?
In winter at the Hintertux Glacier and in the Rastkogel ski area. During the autumn season, lessons are offered at the Hintertux Glacier.
How many course days do you recommend?
Participation is possible from as little as 3 days; on the last day of the course, your instructor will be happy to inform you about extension options.
Can I extend my course?
Yes. If there are enough participants, your course can be extended. Your ski instructor will inform you about this in good time.
Can I book at short notice?
Yes. Short-term bookings are possible, depending on availability, directly in our offices.
Do I need a ski pass?
Yes, generally a valid ski pass is required. This is not included in the course ticket and must be purchased separately. Exceptions are children up to 6 years old, who ski for free in all ski areas in accordance with the regulations of the cable car companies. In addition, the beginner area in Hintertux, provided it is open, is accessible to everyone free of charge and can be used without a ski pass.
What equipment do I need?
You need suitable ski equipment, a ski helmet, ski goggles, warm ski clothing, gloves and, if required, a valid ski pass.
In which languages is instruction offered?
Our group courses are offered in German and English.
What happens if I'm better suited for another group?
If necessary, we will move you to a more suitable group so you can get the most out of your ski lessons.
Is a group course also suitable for advanced skiers?
Yes. Our Level+ groups are aimed at advanced skiers who want to further improve their technique.
What is the difference between Basic and Level+?
Basic is suitable for beginners and returners who cannot brake and make turns independently. Level+ is aimed at participants who already have skiing experience and want to improve their skills.
Why a group course instead of private lessons?
In a group course, you learn together with participants at a similar level, benefit from the group dynamic and improve your skills in a relaxed atmosphere.
When do I need to be at the meeting point?
Please be at the meeting point on day 1, 15 minutes before the course starts. Beginners, Basic/Green in the Rastkogel ski area must be at the meeting point 30 minutes before the course starts.
What if my child is attending a group course at the same time?
No problem, our lesson times are coordinated so that parents and children can attend a group course at the same time. Some children’s group courses also start earlier, so parents have enough time to attend their own course. If there are still any overlaps, we’ll definitely find a solution—please check with our team.
How much time do I need to get to the meeting point?
Depending on the ski area and meeting point, you’ll need between 15 and 30 minutes. Please also allow for possible waiting times.
